The Mongolian People's Rebublic

The Mongolian People's Republic, the cradle of ancient nomadic Mongols is
located in the heart of Central Asia. It borders with the Soviet Union in the
north and the People's Republic of China in the south. The People's Revolution
won in 1921.
The second socialist state of the world.
Agrarian-industrial country.
Territory-1,566 thousand square kilometer.
Population-2 millions.
This beautiful country of forever blue sky is surrounded by High Altai
rocky mountains in the west, dense forested areas in the north, vast plain in
the east and Gobi desert in the south.
Present-day Mongolia is famous for its rich heritage of ancient history,
culture and arts, specific traditions and custom, indigenous species of the
world's rare animals.
Capital-city is Ulanbator founded in 1639. Its inhabitant is half a
million.
Zhuulchin invites
The numerous relics of history and culture, many places of interest,
pristine natural landscapes, unique plant and animal kingdom, the Mongols' way
of life, customs, traditions and clothes - have for a long time attracted
tourists and scholars.
No wonder, therefore, that more and more tourists visit Mongolia every
year. They want to get familiar with our country's ancient history and culture
and present-day life and to see its natural beauty.
The Zhuulchin Tourist organization suggests an interesting and
diversified programme: seeing historical and cultural monuments, visiting
museums, theatres, industrial and wildlife reserves, travelling to picturesque
areas and participating in folk festivals.
All tourist itineraries start in Ulan-Bator, Mongolia's capital.
Tourists can see its museums, theatres and architecture.
The collection of Central State Museum is one of the richest in the
world. Of particular interest for visitors is the paleontological section
where the skeletons of giant dinosaurs and other animals which inhabited
Mongolia hundreds of millions of years ago are displayed.
The Museum of Fine Arts contains valuable art collections.
Here one can see many works by Zanabazar, a famous Mongolian sculptor and
iconpainter of the 17th century.
The Ulan-Bator State Public Library is justly proud of unique manuscripts
and books, among them the 11th century Sanscrit manuscript, multivolume
canonical Buddhist codes, Ganjur and Danjur (18th century).
Those interested in Buddhism may visit the temple museums and the Gandan
Monastery which is still functioning.
Obviously, the most popular route in Mongolia is the tour of the South
Gobi, the habitat of rare animals entered in the Red Data Book, such as wild
camels, Przhevalsky horses, Gobi bears and snow leopards.
Of special interest is Khangai, the mountainous region remarkable for
its forty hot springs whose waters have wonderful curative properties. A
similar spring can be found in Khuzhirt, an international tourist centre.
While in Khuzhirt you will surely visit the ruins of the world renowned
Karakorum, capital of the Great Mongolian feudal empire of the 13-14th
centuries.
Not far from the tourist centre is Erdene-Dzu, a Lamaist monastery built
over 400 years ago, and the picturesque Orkhon Falls.
Zhuulchin provides modern hotels, tourist centres, comfortable buses,
etc. and offers the services of experienced guides - interpreters.
Among the itineraries on the list of the Zhuulchin are pedestrian routes
in the most wonderful places, such as the picturesque gorges of the Three
Beauties Mountains, or a walk along the shores of Lake Khubsugul in the north
of the country. Very popular is the combination of travelling with hunting.
Many foreigners are attracted by the chance to get rare hunting trophies:
the skin of a snow leopard, the horns of argali sheep i bex, gazelle or maral.
