  3. Thanks  again  for  downloading  the  ShareWare  Reviews.  I hope that this
  4. month's edition is as satisfying as previous month's have been.
  5.  
  6. I reviewed thirty programs  for the month of September; a  far cry from the
  7. 40 - 50 I wanted to do,  but the new, additional "indepthness" added to the
  8. reviews takes more time. I am hoping to continue the current trend of doing
  9. one a day.
  10.  
  11. The newest features in the reviews are the value rating and the information
  12. packets.
  13.  
  14. The value  rating is what  I give the  program for price/performance  ratio.
  15. Almost  all public  domain programs   get a  SUPER rating,  while ShareWare
  16. programs are judged a little harder.
  17.  
  18. The information packets were created out  of necessity. I have about 7 megs
  19. of programs in the  queue to be reviewed. You and I  know that I will never
  20. get  to that  many, so  I have   instituted a  3:1 ratio.  For every  three
  21. programs  reviewed  I  will  complete  one  information packet. Information
  22. packets are just  little blurbs, less than 20 lines,  about programs that I
  23. have picked up, but just can't squeeze into the review schedule.

  25. Just a note, if you are downloading this, say in the year 1991 go ahead and
  26. write me. I want to know...

  29. As the header suggests  this is the part where I ask  for donations of any
  30. type. Let's start with some history first:

  32.      "I do the ShareWare reviews because  I feel that ShareWare is the best
  33.      method  of marketing  personal computer  software." This  quote by  me
  34.      really sums up my feelings.
  35.  
  36.      "I also  do ShareWare reviews for  I am attempting to  hone my writing
  37.      skills  before  trying  to  land  a  review  position  at  a  big time
  38.      magazine." Yes, if  you know someone influential at  a magazine please
  39.      pass my reviews onto him/her.
  40.  
  41. Ok,  why should  you donate  anything? This  is the  eternal question  that
  42. haunts every  ShareWare user. I DON'T  WANT YOU TO DONATE  ANYTHING! I want
  43. you to invest in the future of these reviews.
  44.  
  45. Now,  I am  not talking  money only.  I need  disks, mailers,  paper, pens,
  46. anything that  can help me churn  out more reviews. Of  course money is the
  47. most preferred, but  comments and criticisms are also  welcome. Some of the
  48. neatest additions to the reviews were user ideas.

  51. provide high quality reviews for you and other users to read.
