  4. 1. Check the rimstrip, the rubber,
  5. cloth or plastic covering over the
  6. spoke nipples to be  sure it is in
  7. good   condition  and   in  proper
  8. position.

  10. 2. Look at the outside of the tire
  11. while  feeling  around  the inside
  12. (carefully)  to  see  whether  the
  13. puncturing  object is  still stuck
  14. in the rubber.
  15.      If  the  tire  has  an  large
  16. hole, you may be  able to patch it
  17. temporarily. Just lay  a square of
  18. cloth  between  the  tire  and the
  19. tube.  the air  pressure will hold
  20. it in place.

  24. 3.  Put just  enough air  into the
  25. tube   for   it    to   take   its
  26. doughnut-like shape.

  28. 4. Put  the inner tube  fully into
  29. the tire.

  31. 5. Push  the valve about  half way
  32. into the valve hole on the rim. If
  33. you  have trouble  getting it  in,
  34. lift  up the  rimstrip first, push
  35. the  valve  through  the rimstrip,
  36. then into the rim.

  38. 6.  Lay the  wheel on  a table and
  39. then slip  the bottom side  of the
  40. tire  into position  onto the rim.
