  4.   Let's get under the hood of  your
  5. car.  Look under  the  dash  for  a
  6. hood release handle.  It will  look
  7. like one of the two shown  below.  
  8. Pull on it to open the hood.   Some
  9. hoods  are    counterbalanced    by
  10. springs and some require  that  you
  11. place a rod under  it  to  hold  it
  12.

  15. open.   Look  either  in  your  owners
  16. manual or pull it open and see if  you
  17. need to support it to hold it up. Find
  18. the rod either across the front by the
  19. radiator or  on  the  side  along  the
  20. fender and prop the hood open.    Make
  21. sure it is properly  anchored  in  the
  22. hood for safety's sake.
