  7.     It is perhaps unsurprising that the Today show -- which
  8. often features a rotund 58-year-old weatherman wishing happy
  9. birthday to cute centenarians -- has had a hard time rousing
  10. young viewers out of bed. For twentysome things, Today is a
  11. rusty and dusty alarm clock that never goes off. But now
  12. producers are changing that. Shooting for the hip, Today has
  13. signed perky MTV reporter TABITHA SOREN to contribute regular
  14. spots on politics and pop culture. Soren, 25, says she'll aim
  15. for fairly serious coverage. "I'm not going to interview the
  16. Black Crowes or anything." Willard Scott fans say thanks.
