  6.     The Iran-Contra trial of the CIA's Clair George ended in
  7. a hung jury last month, but independent counsel LAWRENCE WALSH
  8. was on the case, immediately requesting a retrial; one was set
  9. for Oct. 19. Now it seems Walsh is having second thoughts about
  10. that decision. Reportedly shocked over his failure to get a
  11. majority of the jury to convict on even one of the nine counts
  12. George is charged with, Walsh is consulting top legal eagles on
  13. whether to proceed. He's already feeling the heat from George
  14. supporters attacking the idea of another wasteful
  15. million-dollar trial. Besides, a second unsuccessful trial could
  16. undercut his last major effort, the trial of former Defense
  17. Secretary Caspar Weinberger, which begins Jan. 5.
