  7.     For WILLIAM SHATNER, the character of Captain James
  8. Tiberius Kirk, macho master of the future-faring starship
  9. Enterprise, has become far more than a movie and TV role: it's
  10. an industry. The latest Kirkiana: Shatner's memoirs, sold for
  11. a celestial $750,000. Publishing is one area where Shatner has
  12. gone before: his Tekwar science-fiction books are set in a
  13. non-Star Trek future but clearly trade on the actor's name.
  14. Plans are in the works to turn Tekwar into a TV series. At least
  15. a quarter of the episodes are to star and be directed by the
  16. enterprising Shatner.
