  7. CATHARINE MACKINNON, pioneering opponent of sexual harassment,
  8. has quietly become engaged to iconoclastic author and former
  9. psychoanalyst JEFFREY MOUSSAIEFF MASSON. The couple first met
  10. after a star-struck Masson read MacKinnon's Sexual Harassment of
  11. Working Women and sought her out. MacKinnon, it turned out, had
  12. read Masson's feminist-friendly critique of Freud, The Assault
  13. on Truth. "I was very excited by the book, as were many
  14. feminists," she says. Masson gives the romance a Freudian spin:
  15. "It was the fulfillment of an unconscious wish."
