  4. The N.R.A. moves to exploit the L.A. riots for its own agenda

  7.     In even the worst of disasters there are bound to be some
  8. opportunities. One group that sees itself as a potential
  9. benefactor from the Los Angeles riots is the National Rifle
  10. Association. Already, articles pointing out the benefits of
  11. keeping a home arsenal as a defense against armed looters are
  12. slated for the June issues of the N.R.A.'S American Rifleman and
  13. American Hunter magazines as well as for the upcoming edition
  14. of its political action newsletter, NRAction. Although there are
  15. no television ads in the works yet, the progun organization is
  16. reviewing videotapes of the riots with an eye to see how they
  17. might best be used. Says an N.R.A. spokesman in Washington:
  18. "There is no better example of why we need the Second Amendment
  19. than a Korean shop owner protecting himself and his store with
  20. his gun."
