  7.     New York City Mayor David Dinkins rebuffed criticism of
  8. his recent costly voyage to South Africa, arguing that his
  9. large entourage was developing vital business contacts. A
  10. gold-rush mentality is taking shape among many black
  11. businessmen. Dinkins, who established a warm rapport with Nelson
  12. Mandela during the South African leader's trip to New York two
  13. years ago, has lately been meeting with other African National
  14. Congress officials to discuss when the city should lift its
  15. sanctions. The move could come in two to three weeks.
