  5. Hockaday launched her own firm in 1949 out of a former
  6. barbershop. Four years later she scored with a campaign that
  7. placed Dunbar furniture in offbeat surroundings: on a grass
  8. carpet, inside a half-built house. Hockaday's slogans, such as
  9. her immortal elegy to a brand of Scotch ("As long as you're up,
  10. get me a Grant's"), often filtered into Pop culture.
