Stays with an immigrant family in Brooklyn. 1917 Moves to Hollywood; is given roles as dancers and villains. 1920 Marries actress Jean Acker, who locks him out on their wedding night (later marries Natasha Rambova). 1921 Release of "The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse" and "The Sheik." 1923 Publishes book of poetry, "Daydreams." 1925 Fortunes revive with the release of "The Eagle" and the highly successful "The Son of the Sheik." AUGUST 23, 1926 Dies age 31 of peritonitis, due to a perforated ulcer, in New York. Thousands of women line the streets for his funeral.
