OCR: CHRONOLOGY MAY 18, 1872 Bom Bertrand Arthur William Russell, in Trelleck, Wales. 1913 Publishes three-volume "Principia Mathematica." 1918 Writes "Introduction to Mathematical Philosophy" while in prison for pacifist activities. 1931 Becomes third Earl Russell, on the death of his elder brother. DECEMBER 10, 1950 Awarded Nobel prize for literature and is cited as "the champion of humanity and freedom of thought." DECEMBER 23, 1954 Makes much-publicized broadcast, "Man's Peril," against Bikini Atoll H-bomb tests. JANUARY 1958 Appointed president of Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament. SEPTEMBER 29, 1963 Establishes the Bertrand Russell Peace Foundation. FEBRUARY 2, 1970 Dies at Pennrhydendraeth, Merrioneth, Wales.
