APRIL 21, 1947 Broadcasts to the nation, on the radio, on her 21st birthday. NOVEMBER 20, 1947 Marries naval lieutenant Philip Mountbatten (Prince Philip of Greece), who is given the title Duke of Edinburgh. NOVEMBER 14, 1948 Eldest son, Prince Charles, is born (followed by Princess Anne in 1950, Prince Andrew in 1960, and Prince Edward in 1964).
