  3.     Sew and Wrap Seat Cushions

  5. Materials:
  6.  
  7. Tape measure
  8. fabric
  9. scrissors
  10. pins
  11. thread
  12. sewing machine
  13. thin ribbon or binding tape (optional)
  14.  
  15. Step 1:
  16. To determine length of wrapper (excluding front
  17. panel), measure across and around cushion from side to
  18. side and add 1 inch; to determine width, measure across
  19. from front to back and add 1 inch; for the front panel
  20. (back stays open, for easy slip-on), measure width and
  21. thickness and add 1 inch.

  23. Step 2:
  24. Cut fabric for wrappers; cut fabric for panels;
  25. press under and stitch hem along back side of wrap.

  27. Step 3:
  28. With right sides together, stitch 1/2-inch center-
  29. bottom seam; press open.
  30.  
  31. Step 4:
  32. Pin and stitch panel to front of wrapper, right
  33. sides facing; sew; remove pins; turn right side out; put
  34. wrapper on cushion.
  35.  
  36. Step 5: (Optional accent)
  37. Cut ribbons long enough that they tie across front panel of
  38. wrapper; position and slip-stitch onto top and bottom
  39. edges of front panel; tie.
