  10. I can't find the original post on this question, but I'm assuming it was
  11. regarding putting your fabric thru your computer printer.

  13. There are many other ways to accomplish image transfer to fabric which are
  14. much more versatile than using your printer.

  16. I've been doing a lot of research on this lately as I'm designing a quilt as
  17. a wedding present using cyanotype printing.  I purchased the book "Imagery
  18. on Fabric" by Jean Ray Laury which has MANY ideas for transfers.  One easy
  19. way to do it is by using photocopies of the subject and transferring the
  20. image to iron-on mending fabric, the kind used for patches, etc.  The image
  21. is then transferred to the cloth (any type, not just muslin) by ironing.
  22. Another way is to transfer the image from the photocopy to the fabric using
  23. acetone (like nail polish remover).  This method gives more detail than the
  24. one using mending fabric and leave the fabric soft.

  26. Laury also have a very complete chart at the front of the book which shows
  27. the washability of each transfer method as well as toxicity, permanence,
  28. suitable fabrics, etc.

  30. I highly recommend reading this book before deciding how you want to do this
  31. project.  It should be available at the library and at bookstores like
  32. Borders.  Watch it, tho, you may get hooked!  <G>
