  3.  How to do Cluny Tatting

  6. Cluny tatting is basically fingerweaving.  Hold the tatting between your thumb
  7. and first finger.  run the ball thread around your 2nd finger, back between
  8. your thumb and first, loop it loosely around your pinkie, back through  the
  9. thumb & first, over your third finger, then wrap tight around your pinkie.
  10. You should have 3 strands coming up from your thumb.  Be careful not to cross
  11. them.   with your shuttle thread, do the first half of a stitch aroun the
  12. beginning of the ball thread,weave under the middle thread,over the last
  13. thread, back under that thread, over the middle, under the 1st,  back over the
  14. 1st, under the middle, etc.  One there and back counts as a stitch. when you
  15. are done, there will be a loop sticking out each end. pull on the lower one to
  16. get the upper one tight, then ont the ball thread to tighten the lower one.
  17. This all feels very awkward and crampy at first, butis really very easy.
