  14.   pants:beg at waist, with b, cast on and divide 26 sts
  15.   on three #1 needles, join. work in ribbing of k1, p1
  16.   for 3 rnds. change to #3 needles rnd 4:*k1, inc 1st in
  17.   next st(k in front and back of same st) rep from *
  18.   around-39 sts. k around until piece measure 1 1/2"
  19.   from start, inc 1st on last rnd-40 sts
  20.   divide for legs:sl last 20 sts worked on a piece of
  21.   yarn for one leg. divide rem 20 sts on 3 dp needles. k
  22.   around for 1" next rnd:k2tog, k around-19 sts. k

  56.   of rnd-42 sts. k2 rnds even. pattern: rnd 1:join b,
  57.   *k1b, k1w, rep from * around rnd 2:*k1w, k1b, rep from
  58.   & around rnd 3:rep rnd 1, cut b, k4 rnds. change to #1
  59.   needles. work around in ribbing of k1, p1 for 6 rnds.
  60.   bind off loosely in ribbing sleeves:dividide 16sts of
  61.   one sleeve on three #2 dp needles. attach w at
  62.   underarm, join. k around for 8 rounds. work pat rnd
  63.   103. with 2, k3 rnds. change to #1 needles. work in
  64.   ribbing of k1, p1 for 5 rnds. bind off in ribbing.
  65.   make other sleeve the same. finishing:steam press
  66.   lightly. sew underarm openings. using 3 strands of b,
  67.   make a tight braid abut 10" long. lace through front.

  69.   hat:with w,cast on and divide 28 sts on three #3 dp
  70.   needles. join; k2 rnds, work pat rnd 1-3 same as for
  71.   sweater. k1 rnd w. next rnd:*k7, place a marker on
  72.   needle, rep from * 3 times dec rnd:sl 1, k1, psso,
  73.   *k3, k2tog, sl marker, sl1, k1, psso, rep from *
  74.   twice, end k3, k2tog-20 sts. k1 rnd even 2nd dec
  75.   rnd:sl1, k1, psso, *k1, k2tog, sl marker, sl1, k1,
  76.   psso, rep from * twice, end k1, k2tog-12 sts. k1 rnd,
  77.   remving markers next rnd:k2tog around-6 sts. cut yarn,
  78.   draw thru rem sts, pull up and fasten securely.

  80.   earlap:mark center back(end of rnd) count 3 sts to the
  81.   left; from right side, with w and two #1 needles, pick
  82.   up and k1 st in each of next 8 sts, p1 row, k1 row, p1

  87.   until tie measures 2" long end wrong side. k3 tog.end
  88.   off. sk next 7 sts. work 2nd earlap same as for first
  89.   earlap. make a tiny B pompom. attach to top.
