  16.     This week's Report covers the time period from midnight Thursday
  17.     morning, February 16, Pacific Standard Time, to midnight 
  18.     Wednesday night, February 22, 1995, Pacific Standard Time.  We 
  19.     recorded 251 earthquakes of M1.0 or larger during the 7-day period 
  20.     covered.
  21.         The largest and most widely felt earthquake this week
  22.     occurred near the Malibu coast on Sunday afternoon, at 1:24 pm.
  23.     It had a magnitude of M4.3 and was followed 90 minutes later by
  24.     a M3.8 aftershock.  Both shocks had thrust focal mechanisms.
  25.     Neither, by the way, was a Northridge aftershock; this site is
  26.     about 15 miles southwest of the Northridge aftershock zone.
  27.         Earlier that day, at 7:47 am, there was a Big Bear aftershock
  28.     (of the Landers/Big Bear sequence from June 28, 1992).  This quake,
  29.     M3.5, was also felt in its epicentral area.
  30.         Then on Tuesday evening, a M3.1 Landers aftershock was
  31.     felt slightly in the Yucca Valley area.
  32.         The table lists the quakes this week that were M2.0 or 
  33.     larger in the central part of the coverage area.  Times are local 
  34.     times; if you want Greenwich Mean Time, add 7 hrs to the Pacific 
  35.     Daylight Time or 8 hrs to the Pacific Standard Time listed.
