  6. Most owners of removable media SCSI drives are stuck with the problem
  7. that their software doesn't handle disk changes correctly.
  8. For example, the current Commodore implementation doesn't mount the 
  9. partitions on a removable media SCSI drive (e.g. SyQuest or Ricoh)
  10. when there was no cartridge in the drive at boot time.

  12. Even worse, after another cartridge with a different Rigid Disk Block 
  13. (i.e. a different partition table) has been inserted, the system
  14. gets totally confused and reports read/write errors when trying
  15. to access the device which can lead to loss of important data on 
  16. the cartridge.

  18. Until now, the only possibility to work around this problem was to
  19. reboot the system every time a new cartridge has been inserted.

  21. SCSIMounter allows you to mount and unmount partitions without rebooting 
  22. the machine. It sports a nice 2.0-style point-and-click user interface
  23. that makes handling removable media a piece of cake.
