bBaseIII Revision History
=========================
Note: bBaseIII retains all of the features of bBaseII,
and adds the following:
Version 1.0m: 155200 bytes. Limited release - Feb 1993
* Having the "Note" Area present is now optional.
* Can now go to the Note Area by clicking on the word "Note".
* Can change the number of rows in the Note Area at any time.
* The "Show All Records" Menu item was not showing the last record.
Corrected.
* The "Swap Position of 2 Fields" Menu item was not swapping the
Titles, if there were an even number of fields. Corrected.
* All deleted records are stored in a file in RAM:. Now, any one of
the first 23 deleted records may be UNdeleted with only a
mouseclick.
* Put a "Tag Box" above the Data Area. If the displayed record is
"Tagged", ie. on the Tag (or Matching) List, a check-mark will
appear in this box. The current number of tagged records will also
be displayed.
* Added "Tag All" and "UnTag All" to the Search Menu. Add all records
to the Tag List, or clear the Tag List.
* Added "Next Tagged Record" to the Search Menu. May now jump
directly to the record in the Tag List following the last record you
have seen.
* Added "Goto a Record" to the Search Menu, for completeness.
Same as clicking on the "G" gadget.
* Added "All Tagged Records <D>" to the Delete Menu. May now delete
all of the records in the Tag List in 1 operation.
* Increased the maximum number of records to 1250. (Computers with
1 Meg of RAM retain the 600 record limit).
* New Menu item "Encrypt/Decrypt a File" will scramble a database
(or any other file), and restore it, with a password.
* May now specify a short comment to appear on the Title Line of a
record report.
* Added "Fast Forward" gadgets to skip through the database faster,
and a "Jump Bar" that will place you anywhere in the database with
just a mouse click.
* Added "Fast Forward/Reverse" to the Change Menu, to specify the
number a records skipped by the "Fast Forward" gadget.
* Added "Enable" and "Disable" to the Notes Menu. May now enable or
disable the Notes option any time from within the program.
* Added "Displayed Record" to the Add Menu. May now add a copy of a
record as a new record.
* May now save a data file in WordPerfect Mail Merge format.
* Added "Save Tagged Records" to the Project Menu. The tagged records
can now be Saved as a separate database.
Version 1.0n: Internal February 1993
* Added "Tag Invert" to the Search Menu. Tagged records will become
UnTagged, and visa versa.
Version 1.0p: Internal March 1993
* The field that the database is sorted on is now indicated.
* The Jump Bar changed to an alphabetic system; clicking on a letter
takes you to the first record begining with that letter.
* Total number of records is now continuously displayed.
* Added Mail Merge format for ProWrite.
Version 1.1: 158800 bytes Released April 1993
* The Jump Bar now shows all records beginning with the selected
letter.
* Can now select the column to start printing Mailing Labels.
* Added an "Escape" gadget. Same as pressing the <Esc> key.
Version 1.2: 157800 bytes Limited Release - April 1993
* Fixed a bug that would generate an error when "Show All Records"
was selected, in an unsorted database.
* Some optimization.
Version 1.3: 159400 bytes Released May 1993
* Added Mail Merge format for Final Copy.
* Fixed a bug that would generate an error when <Esc> was pressed
immediately after selecting "Add - A Record".
Version 1.31: 160600 bytes Released July 1993
* Can now optionally run on an interlaced screen.
* Program now specifically loads Topaz 8 font. This will avoid
garbled screens from users who have a different default font.
Version 1.32: 160600 bytes Limited Release August 1993
* When the number of lines in the Note Area was decreased, the
program would announce too many records affected. Corrected.
Version 1.4: 160800 bytes Released August 1993
* There was a nasty bug in Versions 1.31 and 1.32 that would cause a
crash when the program was run on some machines. Corrected.
Version 1.41: 161000 bytes Limited Release October 1993
* Some problems encountered when printing labels were corrected.
Version 1.42: 161000 bytes Limited Release November 1993
* When printing in block format, or 2 or 3 across mailing labels,
the last row was not always printing properly. Corrected.
Version 1.43: 161000 bytes Released February 1994
* One minor bug fix.
Version 1.45: 161100 bytes Limited Release April 1994
* When a field was added, the sortfield indicator would increment.
* When the last tagged record was manually deleted, an error
would be generated. Both problems corrected.
Version 1.4e: Internal - January 1994
* Can now adjust the screen colors from within the program.
* Program now uses the WB2.04 Wait Pointer.
* Added "Merge a Database" to the Project Menu. Two similar databases
may now be combined.
* <Alt-x> combination (to blank the requester) changed to <Ctrl-x>.
Also added <Ctrl-q> (start of line), <Ctrl-w> (jump to next word),
and <Ctrl-e> (end of line). By using the Control characters, more
of the Alternate character set can be used for input, eg. the © sign
(Alternate - e).
* <Alt-s> combination (Save On-Off) changed to <Ctrl-s>.
* The "Show All Records" and "Show Tagged Records" windows are much
improved, as they now utilize slider bars.
* Added Menu Item "Add - RAM:bBase_clip". This is a sort of a
'clipboard'. If a record is Printed (Copied) to a File, and that
file is the default (RAM:bBase_clip), then that record can be added
to another database, if the structure is similar.
* When a database is loaded, bBase will now check and display the
memory available to it, along with an indication of how 'full' the
database is. This action can also be performed at any time by using
the "Show Available Memory" item of the Project Menu, or by pressing
the <M> key.
* Added "Add Record At" to the Add Menu. When a record is added,
you can now specify where in the database it will be, instead of it
being automatically added as the last record.
Version 2.0a: Internal - January 1994
* Added "Help" to the Project Menu. The file "bBase.guide", or
"bBase.doc" can now be accessed from within bBaseIII, if it is
situated in the Current Directory. Your favorite Text Reader
will be recognized, and loaded to display it.
* The time required to Scramble/DeScramble a file has been cut almost
in half.
Version 2.1: about 74100 bytes Released May 1994
* May now specify a form-feed position, or suppress form-feeds
entirely, from the Print Menu.
* It is no longer required to append an asterisk (!) after the
filename when using the "-f" switch, but the "-f" switch must now
be the last switch used on the command line.
