  9. .description
  10. These are the GNU file management utilities.  Most of these programs
  11. have significant advantages over their Unix counterparts, such as
  12. greater speed, additional options, and fewer arbitrary limits.

  14. The programs that can be built with this package are: chgrp, chown,
  15. chmod, cp, dd, df, du, install, ln, dir, vdir, ls, mkdir, mvdir,
  16. mkfifo, mknod, mv, rm, rmdir and touch.  But mvdir is built only on
  17. systems that lack the rename system call.

  19. The programs cat, cut, expand, head, paste, split, tac, tail and
  20. unexpand, which used to be part of the fileutils, are now part of the
  21. textutils.  Cmp is now part of the diff distribution.
