  5. I  hopefully  fixed  the  problems running under the Piccasso gfx board.
  6. Thanks to those that helped.

  8. I  also eliminated the Enforcer hits when selecting a font.  This should
  9. also fix the occasional crashes when doing same.

  11. I played around with the palette window code yet again.  Maybe this time
  12. it'll  work  under  Kickstart 3.1?????  LET ME KNOW.  SEND SCREEN GRABS,
  13. DETAILS, ETC!  PLEASE.  Otherwise, until I can buy Kickstart 3.1, you're
  14. fucked.

  16. Keyfile  handling  should  be a bit more stable.  Had reports of Iconian
  17. looking  everywhere  from  SYS:   to corrupt volume names.  SnoopDOS now
  18. shows Iconian looking in the correct places...

  20. Only  2  catalogs that'll work under Iconian 1.97.  The German (Deutsch)
  21. and  French  (Français).   The  other  two were never updated from 1.90.

  27. First  off,  this  is  a  pretty  major  update  over  1.90.   So please
  28. refamiliarize yourself with it...?

  30. For  those  of  you  who  are returning, please note MANY bugs have been
  31. cornered,  trapped,  and  squashed.   The  most major (in my mind) was a
  32. memory corrupting one associated with filled circles.  (YEA!).

  34. Unfortunatly, I really messed up the iconify options, trying to clean up
  35. the  code.   I  could  revert  to the older one, which worked 50% of the
  36. time, but I decided to just trash it for now.  This may be temporary, or
  37. it  may be permanent.  This depends on my commitment to continue work on
  38. this project in the future.

  40. I've  received  numerous  complaints (comments?) about Iconian's palette
  41. window  not  working  correctly  (or not at all) under Kickstart 3.1.  I
  42. have  to tell you it works 100% under KS 3.0.  I don't have access to KS
  43. 3.1,  so  I don't know what's wrong, and I can't fix it.  I tried to add
  44. some  error  handling  code  to  the  gadget layout routine, tried doing
  45. things  in  different  ways, etc.  But all reports still point to it not
  46. working.  *sigh* I'm sorry...

  49. If  you  are  a  NEW  USER, please take a good look at my program.  I've
  50. grown  real  proud of it lately.  I'm offering a very cheap registration
  51. for anyone interested.  There are several ways of receiving a registered
  52. version...  read the .guide to find out how.

  63. Ok,  I've  decided  to  continue  work  on  this puppy.  So shoot me for
  64. changing my mind.

  66. There  are  alot of new minor features.  Hope you find them all!  (hint:
  67. read the history.txt file!!!)

  69. Quite  a  few bug fixes too.  It seems more stable.  But there are still
  70. problems  with  Iconify,  and filled shapes.  These bugs elude me when I
  71. look for them, but continue showing their ugly faces.  They don't really
  72. crash the machine, only corrupt the memory list (yellow recovery).  Good
  73. luck, you will need it.

  78. Well,   I  tire  of  this  project.   So  I'm  unleashing  it  upon  the
  79. unsuspecting  Amiga  community.   Take it as a god-send wonder, or as an
  80. example for the value of the DELETE command.  I made this program to fit
  81. my  taste.   It may also be yours, or it may be the ugliest thing you've
  82. ever seen.  I don't really care at this point.

  84. Just some thing's I will mention to make using this monster a bit
  85. easier.

  87. When  you  select "SAVE" or "Save Prefs", this will also save the window
  88. positions  and  sizes.   Then,  next  time  you  start Iconian, your new
  89. positions  will  be used instead of the NTSC 640x200 defaults.  This may
  90. be  a  pain,  though,  if  you  are  constantly  changing  your  Iconian
  91. preferences...

  93. Also, the preference window doesn't contain any documentation.
  94.  
  95. Remap  Brushes:  If ON, a FindColor will be used to determine pen color.
  96. This should be ON for about 99% of all cases.
  97.  
  98. Immediate  draw:   If  this  is  ON,  then as soon as you click inside a
  99. window,  you  will  start drawing.  This is useful if you are drawing in
  100. both the magnified window and the viewer windows.  If OFF, then you must
  101. first activate the window, then click a second time to start drawing.

  103. Use  crosshairs:  This is an easy one.  Turn it off if you don't like my
  104. crosshair sprite.
  105.  
  106. Save  Eight:   This forces all saved icons to eight planes.  This is the
  107. way  original  MagicWB  icons  are  saved.  They are usually bigger than
  108. neccessary, due to extra plane info.  But, they are able to be displayed
  109. correctly  under  different screen depths.  Remember WorkBench 3.0 has a
  110. funny way of determining palette colors and pens...
  111.  
  112. Relative  Coords:   This  gadget is not connected, so don't expect it to
  113. work.
  114.  
  115. Visible  Grid:  This will draw lines between the magnified pixels.  Only
  116. works at higher magnifications.  Be forewared that this is SLOW.  Use at
  117. will.
  118.  
  119. Mag Draw Only:  This means you will unable to draw within the viewer
  120. windows.
  121.  
  122. Obey Locks:  Turning this OFF will allow you to edit ANY RGB values on
  123. the public screen.  Only use this if you know what you are doing!

  125. Strip Planes:  This overrides Save Eight.  If ON, Iconian will search
  126. for the highest used color in the icon, and strip any extra planes.

  128. Don't Lend:  Left over from previous versions, and does NOTHING.

  131. The 't' key will bring up the "enter text" window.
  132. Pressing the 'T' key will bring up the font requester.
  133. Pressing the RETURN key will change from the current brush to text mode.
  134. Pressing  'B'  will  recall  the  last  cut brush after selecting "enter
  135.   text".
