  5. This directory tree contains archives of files that are provided elsewhere
  6. on this CD-ROM in unarchived form.  The primary difference is that for this
  7. portion of the CD-ROM, the material has been archived and compressed using
  8. the "lha" program.  Another difference is that filenames from this point
  9. down in the directory hierarchy have been checked using the GNU doschk
  10. program, to ensure that they can all be accessed without name collisions,
  11. using only characters valid for MSDOS filenames and MSDOS file naming
  12. conventions.

  14. This portion of the CD-ROM is intended to make it easier to distribute
  15. portions of this CD-ROM electronically, such as via Bulletin Board Systems
  16. (BBS), or by ftp from sites that have network connections and mount the
  17. CD-ROM for public access.  There are no icons on the individual files.
  18.  
  19. I'm almost certain that BBS owners or users will notice ways in which this
  20. portion of the CD-ROM could be made easier to use or more useful for a
  21. larger user base.  Please send me your suggestions and I will strive to
  22. incorporate them into future CD-ROM's.
