- Distribution
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~
- KeyMenu is available to the public domain and may freely distributed, with
- or without doc files.
-
-
- Please Note
- ~~~~~~~~~~~
- If you have not read the doc's for Keycall, please do so now.
-
-
- Usage
- ~~~~~
- Assuming you are now familiar with the features of Keycall, this program
- is basically a cut down version for user's demo/utility disk's etc.
-
- KeyMenu runs from the CLI only, it's sole purpose is to execute the user
- definable command strings found in a "Keylist" edited and saved by Keycall.
- Unlike Keycall, KeyMenu has no control window or hotkey function, it
- simply intercepts the <Qualifier>+Fn key sequences until stopped.
-
- KeyMenu can be terminated by using the "Break" command, and unless running
- in the background, by using the <ctrl+C> key sequence.
-
-
- Why ?
- ~~~~~
- Why use Keymenu, and not Keycall ?
-
- Well, assume you are creating a disk/compilation that requires a menu
- option. Once you have edited your required command strings, run KeyMenu in
- the startup-sequence, the program is transparent to the user and your menu
- options will remain available to the user. As a bonus KeyMenu occupies
- less than 1500 bytes.
-
-
- How ?
- ~~~~~
- Edit your command strings in the usual manner. However if don't use the
- "Run" command within your command strings, then KeyMenu is disabled until the
- completion of the command string. Careful use of this option allows you
- the choice of running in the background, or forcing Keymenu to wait for
- program termination. If the last program in all command strings displays
- the menu options, via a text or graphic display, then the user is always
- returned to your menu screen.
-
- Example command string :
-
- CD SYS:Pix\nSlideShow #?.pic\nRun >Nil: Display Sys:Menu
-
- Having edited and saved your Keylist, copy it to the required disk's S:
- directory, and insert the following command in the startup-sequence :
-
- Run >Nil: Pathname:KeyMenu
-
-
- Please note that whilst Keymenu is running then the qualifier+function key
- sequences are not available to your programs. ie. If you have selected the
- control key as your qualifier then all Ctrl+Fn key combinations will be
- intercepted, but all the other (Alt,Amiga,Shift,None) qualifier+function
- key combinations are ignored by KeyMenu and therefore available for other
- programs.
