  1. This is disk 773 of the freely distributable AMIGA software library.
  2. Below is a listing of the significant directories and their contents.

  5. Detache        A very small and simple utility that will detache a file from
  6.         the file system.  Note that this is completely different than
  7.         deleting a file.  In particular, Detache works even if the file
  8.         system did not restart properly because of a failed validation.
  9.         This happens rather frequently if the Amiga crashes during a
  10.         write on a hard disk partition: you get the dreaded "checksum
  11.         error on block xxx" requester, and no writes are allowed to the
  12.         partition.  If you know the name of the guilty file (the file
  13.         the faulty block belongs to) you can simply detache it, and the
  14.         file system will be happy to restart.  Requires OS2.04, binary
  15.         only.

  18. Enforcer    A tool to monitor illegal memory access for 68020/68851, 68030,
  19.         and 68040 CPUs.  This is a completely new Enforcer from the
  20.         original idea by Bryce Nesbitt.  It contains many new and
  21.         wonderful features and options and no longer contains any
  22.         exceptions for specific software.  Enforcer can now also be
  23.         used with CPU or SetCPU FASTROM or most any other MMU-Kick-
  24.         start-Mapping tool.  Major new output options such as local
  25.         output, stdout, and parallel port.  Highly optimized to be as
  26.         fast as possible.  This is version 37.26, containing a bug fix
  27.         to version 37.25 on disk number 754.  Requires V37 of the OS
  28.         or better and an MMU.

  31. Ls        An update based wholly but loosely to the version 3.1 of Ls on
  32.         disk number 236 by Justin McCormick.  Includes many enhance-
  33.         ments and bug fixes.  Ls is a popular, UNIX style directory
  34.         lister.  This version features intelligent columnar listing,
  35.         versatile sort options, UNIX-style pattern matching, recursive
  36.         subdirectory listing, customized output formatting and much
  37.         more!  Version 4.7ljr, requires at least OS 2.04, includes
  38.         source.

  41. NewPop        An upgrade to the original "POPCLI" by John Toebes.  Features
  42.         include a hotkey CLI (of course!), instant or timed screen
  43.         blanking, a discreet informative backdrop window in the title-
  44.         bar region of the WorkBench screen that gives the date, a
  45.         rough indication of CPU usage and SCSI disk I/O and available
  46.         memory.  Also includes a runtime configuration file.  Version
  47.         4.0, includes source.

  50. Quest        General purpose interactive AREXX question/answer routine that
  51.         includes a very funny script ("HackerTest") to rate your
  52.         "computerese" and hacker ability.  Quest can be used for any
  53.         similiar type question-answer script.  The original hackertest
  54.         was created by Felix Lee, John Hayes and Angela Thomas in Sep-
  55.         tember 1989.

  58. REXXProgs    Some good, well-commented, examples of REXX programming.
  59.         Includes Palette.rexx, an ARexx tutorial on using the rexx-
  60.         arplib.library to open a window (in this case a color palette)
  61.         on any public screen and send messages to another ARexx pro-
  62.         cess.  ShoList.rexx, displays system lists (libraries, ports,
  63.         tasks, etc.) and Sz.rexx, Displays alphabetically sorted
  64.         directory with filesizes.  CLI only.

  67. Wangle        Very addictive "sliding-block" single player strategy game.
  68.         The object is to group four smaller squares of the same color
  69.         together in such a way as to form a larger square.  Once
  70.         started in a direction, blocks slide until they hit another
  71.         block, a wall, or in some cases, fall through the floor!
  72.         Includes 50 levels and a level editor.  Binary only.
