  3. To get an idea of how BBBBS looks, without the need for Baud Bandit,
  4. (you WILL need the ARexx and rexx-arp libraries listed in BBBBS.doc,
  5. and at least 1.5 MEGS of RAM.  DON'T FORGET THE LIBS OR IT WON'T WORK!),
  6. Open a CLI (or Shell), and type the following;
  7.  
  8. CLI 1> CD RAM:
  9. CLI 1> lharc -x x BBBBS53.lzh
  10. CLI 1> assign BBS: RAM:
  11. CLI 1> CD RAM:rexx
  12. CLI 1> rx bbsLOCAL SETUP
  13.  
  14. This last command runs the sysop "LOCAL" version of the BBS in "SETUP"
  15. mode which creates any needed directories.
  16.  
  17. When it asks for your name enter "sysop".
  18. When it asks for your password enter "password".
  19.  
  20. From that point on you will be seeing the BBS as the user sees it with
  21. the addition of all the super-sysop commands. To see which is which,
  22. read "BBBBS.COMMANDS" in the Information section ("i" from the menu).
  23. For more detailed command information, instructions on how to install,
  24. and general operating instructions, read "BBBBS.doc" in the same area.

  26. Now, logoff, type "rx bbsLOCAL", but this time enter "test name", and
  27. observe how a new user signs up. If your test user uploads no files, and
  28. writes no messages, (email is ok), there will be no record of his having
  29. been there after you sign on (as sysop again) and [K]ill "TEST_NAME".

  31. bbsLOCAL.rexx is almost exactly equal to BBBBS.baud with some obvious
  32. exceptions (uload and dload use the arp file requester), and "quick"
  33. logoff (no prompt for feedback).

  35. To use the spellchecker that comes with this BBS, extract into your BBS
  36. directory and edit the CONFIG.BBS file;
  37.  
  38. CLI 1> CD BBS:
  39. CLI 1> lharc -x x SpellBBS.LZH
  40.  
  41. Note that Gramma's BBS is using the latest version of this very software!
