  1. Usage

  4. First, connect to the internet, then double click on NewsHound.
  5.  
  6. If you have 'Connect to default server on startup' set, NewsHound will
  7. start doing a newsfetch. Otherwise, click menu on it's icon, and
  8. then select 'Start Fetch', and the nick of your newsserver.
  9.  
  10. (clicking adjust on the newshound icon will start a newsfetch to the
  11.  default server)
  12.  
  13. You'll get a status window showing progress if you had 'Open status at
  14. start of fetch' on, or you can click select on the newshound icon.
  15.  
  16. Select 'Quit' from the menu when finished.
  17.  
  18. NewsHound can be started by newsbase to perform periodic checks for
  19. news - see the params file in the newsbase transport for more details.
  20. (you *must* have the 'start fetch to server on startup' option switched
  21. on to use this facility.

  23. Fetching an active list (a list of all the newsgroups a server carries)

  26. You can request an active list by going to the 'Transport setup' window
  27. in newsbase, selecting NewsHound as the 'Transport', then clicking
  28. menu in the lower half of the window, and click on 'Get groups'.
  29. (This requires a relatively recent copy of newsbase!)
