  13. Charges MUST NOT be run from a protected filing
  14. system or write-protected disc, as it frequently
  15. writes data into its directory, both for security
  16. and as a fundamental part of how it works.

  18. Although the program will continue to work in such a
  19. situation, it will not be able to keep track of its
  20. data, and so will be largely useless. It will also
  21. produce numerous error messages.

  23. Charges should be operated from a hard disc wherever
  24. possible, or at worst from an UNPROTECTED floppy
  25. disc.
  26.  
  27. A working copy of the application should be made
  28. before trying to use it in the first place.
  29.  
  30. Public domain libraries should supply this program
  31. either in an uncompressed form, or with a copy of
  32. this 'IMPORTANT!' file alongside it in the archive.
