  12. Target is a very simple game which will help children to learn about
  13. rectangular coordinates in an amusing way.
  14.  
  15. You open the main Target window from the Icon Bar menu, clicking SELECT
  16. on the Target (Game) entry. A window will open with a pane at the top
  17. and a largely blank space underneath. Somewhere in this space will be a
  18. target.
  19.  
  20. The object of the game is to find, by trial and error, the coordinates
  21. of the bulls eye of the target. For each game the target is randomly
  22. positioned in the window.

  24. There are four different games that you can play and these are selected
  25. by using the radio buttons marked 1 to 4. Games 1 and 2 deal only with
  26. the first quadrant of the plane and games 3 and 4 deal with all four
  27. quadrants.

  29. You make a guess by typing coordinates (eg. 2,6) into the writable icon
  30. and then either press RETURN or click on the <OK> button. If your guess
  31. is incorrect a message to this effect will be displayed and a black dot
  32. the size of the bull's eye will be shown on the screen at the position
  33. of your guess. You can then use this information to make your next
  34. guess.  N.B.  If you want to type in the brackets that is allowable
  35. but they are not necessary.

  37. When the answer is correct you will be told and can then press the new
  38. game button to try a new position.

  40. The main window menu allows you to set a grid and/or axes in order to get
  41. younger children started.

  43. The configuration is savable from the icon bar menu.
