  78.  PocDoc is an electronic diary for monitoring your health.

  114. Printing graphics
  115. -----------------

  117.   Graphics can be printed on Epson, HP, or compatible printers.

  119.   Do not print graphical data through MCPRINT, as output may be garbled !
  120.   Instead print through MCLINK:
  121.   - Start RemoteLink on the palmtop.
  122.   - Assign the host printer port as a printfile via PSION-Y (e.g. REM::LPT1 on a PC)

  124.   Other platforms:
  125.   - Set the printfile to a local file
  126.   - after printing transfer this file to the host
  127.   - then print the transferred file out (e.g. file type "Printout" on Acorn).

  129.   However, you can also print to a directly connected printer.

  132.                                Installation
  133.                                ============

  135. Host platforms
  136. --------------
  137.  
  138.         We deliver our products via email or on 3.5" floppy discs (1.44 MB IBM Format)
  139.         On request we can send out 720 kB floppy discs.
  140.         These formats can be read by PC, Mac, Amiga, Atari, Acorn.
  141.  
  142.         If you received the software via email or downloaded it from an electronic
  143.         network you will received it in compressed format (PKZIPF). You will need
  144.         the latest version of PKUNZIP to decompress the software.
  145.  
  146.         On the Macintosh do not use the standard UNZIP utility. Instead, use
  147.         the ZIPIT utility which you will find on your network.
  148.         In ZIPIT uncheck the box that says: "By default, smart-strip line feeds
  149.         from text files."
  150.  
  151.         As a rule of thumb avoid options containing the word "smart".
  152.

  154. Installation from PC or Mac
  155. ---------------------------
  156.  
  157. 1. Decompress the software (see above).
  158.  
  159. 2. Connect your Series3 computer to your PC or Mac. Start MCLINK
  160.    and activate "Remote link" from the PSIONs system screen.
  161.  
  162. 3. Set the cursor under the RunOPL-icon (not under the OPL editor!) and
  163.    press TAB. When the file selection screen appears, press TAB again.
  164.    In the first line of the dialog box specify the name of the installation
  165.    directory (where the new software is stored), e.g. REM::C:\CSERVE\DOWNLOAD\
  166.    A file selection list appears.
  167.  
  168. 4. Select the file !setup3.opa (first file). Press ENTER. 
  169.    SetUp3 now takes control. The screen goes blank for a few seconds. Don't panic.
  170.    A file selector box appears.
  171.  
  172. 5. If the file selector box shows the product name, just press ENTER.
  173.    If the file selector box shows a language, choose a language of your choice.
  174.    If your language is not mentioned, select "international", which is English.
  175.  
  176. 6. The file transfer starts. If the product was installed before,
  177.    SetUp3 will start a dialog asking you if you want to
  178.      (Continue)     = Overwrite existing version
  179.      (Other drive)  = Install new version on different drive
  180.      (Options only) = Install options you did not install the first time.
  181.  
  182. 7. SetUp3 asks you on which drive you want to install the software
  183.    and on which drive you usually keep your data.
  184.    We recommend flash memory for the system and usually RAM for data.
  185.  
  186. 9. SetUp3 will ask you about optional modules. You can decide to install
  187.    them now, or you can leave it for later.
  188.  
  189. 10.SetUp3 will give instructions on how to proceed after the successful
  190.    transfer.

  192.  
  193. Installation from other platforms
  194. ---------------------------------
  195.  
  196. On other platforms than PC or Mac there are two possibilities:
  197.  
  198. A) You have enough free memory, preferably on internal memory, RAM or a spare Flash pack.
  199.    Proceed as follows:
  200.  
  201. 1. Decompress the software (see above).
  202.    
  203. 2. Transfer the whole installation folder to a new installation folder on
  204.    the palmtop (M:\INSTAL\ for instance).
  205.    However, there is no need to tranfer *.ZIP, *.TXT, and *.FRM files, so you may
  206.    leave these ones out.
  207.  
  208. 3. Set the cursor under the RunOPL-icon (not under the OPL editor!) and
  209.    press TAB. When the file selection screen appears, navigate to the new
  210.    installation folder on the palmtop.
  211.    Continue as described above under (4).
  212.    After installation is completed remove the installation folder from the palmtop.
  213.  
  214.  
  215. B) If you do not have so much memory an assisted manual installation is still possible.
  216.    Proceed as follows:
  217.  
  218. 1. Decompress the software (see above).
  219.  
  220. 2. Connect your Series3 computer to your host computer. Start the host
  221.    communications software and activate "Remote link" from the PSIONs system screen.
  222.  
  223. 3. Copy !setup3.opa into M:\APP\ .
  224.    Copy a *.ipf file of your choice into M:\APP\ .
  225.    Install !setup3 to the system screen (see user manual).
  226.  
  227. 4. Activate !setup3 by positioning the highlight under it and pressing ENTER.
  228.    A file selector box appears.
  229.  
  230. 5. Acknowledge the file selector box by pressing ENTER.
  231.  
  232. 6. The installation begins. If the product was installed before,
  233.    SetUp3 will start a dialog asking you if you want to
  234.      (Continue)     = Overwrite existing version
  235.      (Other drive)  = Install new version on different drive
  236.      (Options only) = Install options you did not install the first time.

  251.    transfer.

  254. When things go wrong
  255. --------------------
  256.  
  257. If the installation does not run smoothly, do not try to install
  258. manually. The chance is, that if Setup3 or the installation control (IPF)
  259. file was corrupted, that other modules are corrupted, too.
  260.  
  261. Please read the instructions again and repeat installation.
  262.  
  263. You could also try to use a lower transmission speed between host and PSION.
  264.  
  265. If the problem should persist, check for data corruption.
  266. Order another floppy disc, or download again.
  267.  
  268. If the problem still persists, please seek our advice.
  269.  
  270.  
  271. Morpheus
  272. --------
  273.  
  274. Please do not send us questions "What is Morpheus". Instead read this:
  275.  
  276. One of the tricky things when writing OPL-applications is the HELP-key.
  277. For instance, it is not possible to react to the HELP-key when a menu
  278. or a dialog box is on the screen, which is not very nice, because you
  279. may want help to fill out that dialog box.
  280.  
  281. That is the reason why we created Morpheus. Morpheus is a independent
  282. application which runs in the background and intercepts the HELP-key.
  283. Morpheus checks which application is in the foreground and will then
  284. display the appropriate help texts.
  285.  
  286. The other function of Morpheus is to handle alarms (for the products
  287. ProPoc and HyperPoc). It can do this better than the Agenda.
  288.  
  289. Morpheus is launched automatically by any application that uses Morpheus'
  290. services. Morpheus will stay active as long as a client application is
  291. active or any Morpheus-alarms are scheduled. (The actual shutdown may
  292. be delayed for 1 minute). So, usually you don't have to shutdown
  293. Morpheus manually.
  294.  
  295. One of the beauties of the system is that Morpheus can serve many masters.
  296. So if you use some of our products simultanously, still only one
  297. copy of Morpheus will be active.
  298.  
  299. All our installations install Morpheus to the internal drive even if
  300. you have chosen another system drive, because that is the best place.
  301. Installing Morpheus to an SSD would cause later problems, because you
  302. would not be able to reformat that disk without stopping Morpheus manually.
  303.  
  304. If you must, here is the way:
  305.  
  306.           Install Morpheu2 to the system screen (see user manual)
  307.           Then press PSION-Z(S3) or SHIFT-PSION-X(S3a) to kill Morpheus.
  308.           If Morpheus was running it will respond with a beep and will die.
  309.           Deinstall Morpheus (see user manual).
  310.  
  311. Deinstallation
  312. --------------
  313.  
  314. To deinstall the application from you palmtop proceed as follows.
  315.  
  316. 1. First backup your system.
  317.  
  318. 2. If you don't have other applications that use Morpheus:
  319.    Stop Morpheus as described above.
  320.    Remove MORPHEU2.OPA and folder \MORPHEU2 from the folder M:\APP.

  322. 3. n.a.

  324. 4. If you do not have other applications from us (POC-appications)
  325.    remove the folder \APP\COMMON from the system drive.
  326.  
  327. 5. Remove the file POCDOC.OPA and the folder POCDOC from 
  328.    the folder APP on the system drive.

  330. 6. Remove the datafolders DOCTOR from the data drive(s).
  331.  
  332. 7. Remove the license file POCDOC.$$$ from the root directory M:\
