PocDoc allows to monitor virtually all aspects of your health that can be expressed in numerical values. Diabetics can monitor their blood glucose, or persons with high heart disease risk factors can monitor their cholestrol value, blood pressure, and body weight.
In addition, PocDoc stores your most important medical data for quick information in cases of emergency.
Concepts
Info screen
The info screen is thought as a reference for the most important medical data. It should not replace health ID cards and similar but rather complement them.
The info screen supports tone dialing of two phone numbers.
Pressing repeatedly the spacebar dials the emergency phone number. This is much quicker than searching the database for the phone number of your doctor.
You can change the content of the info screen with PSION-I. After modifications, always test the dialing function!
An additional info screen (Memo) for storing information about materials or devices can be accessed with PSION-W.
Dialing
PocDoc dialing is quickly invoked with the spacebar. Repeated use of the spacebar leads directly to dialing the emergency number.
PocDoc can handle country codes in both formats: [country_name] or +country_code-xxxx-xxxxx.
The prefix for out-dialing is defined in Preferences.
Files
Usually only one file is needed. Additional files can be created to store data of several people, or to store data for an acute sickness.
Each file can contain up to 15 diaries.
Diaries
Each diary contains all values for a specific topic, such as: cholesterol, blood glucose, weight, etc.
Values are entered with their date. There are two different ways to identify values within one day:
1. Events, such as: before breakfast, after lunch
2. Time of day
You can also store a remark with each value, such as:
fasting, flue, new drug.
The total number of values stored in one file is limited by 32,000 or the disk space available . The maximum size of values is 9999 with two decimal digits.
Menu functions
File Title
New file
Create a new file to store data for another person or during a special period.
The following dialog lets you define the content of the info screen.
We recommend to store the files on Flash SSD. As the stored values are unlikly to be changed frequently, Flash memory is best suited to store your medical data. It is also very safe.
Open file
Open an existing file. The info screen is displayed
immediately.
Use the spacebar for emergency dialing.
Lets you update the emergency information.
Enter the product numbers of materials and devices you need here. Also store the address of the supplier.
Print
Select a diary for printing to a printer or into an ASCII-file.
Make sure the printer has been set up properly (PSION-Y).
Diary title
Create diary
Define the name of the topic you want to monitor (e.g. Glucose).
Define important comments (e.g. 2hrs after meal).
Define floor (minimum) and ceiling (maximum) for the exspected value range. These values will limit the values during data entry and will also define the value range during graphical display.
If you plan to use event related entries, define the possible events as a comma separated list (e.g. before breakfast, after lunch).
Leave "events" empty if you plan to use time related entries.
Modify diary
This function allows to modify the comments and the floor and ceiling values for a diary.
Delete diary
The specified diary with all related data entries is deleted.
You may want to make a backup copy before executing this function.
Note: No memory is reclaimed on Flash memory until the Flash-pack is reorganised.
Data title

Data is entered for the selected diary. You may want to add
remarks, like fasting, flue, etc.
Use PSION-R to review and modify data.

Chart
A chart is a graphical representation of a diary. You can display charts in different timebases (months, weeks,
days,hours).
A special function allows to display an average day over a specified time interval.
The mean values are displayed as solid lines while the value range is displayed as grey area.
The total value range in a chart is determined from the floor/ceiling definitions in the diary.
The following functions are available for charts:
PSION-+ Zoom in to a finer timebase.
PSION-- Zoom out to a coarser timebase.
PSION-J Jump to specified date or redefine interval.
PSION-S Save screen as bitmap (M:\PIC\*.PIC).
PSION-P Print the screen grapic.
Printer must be set to Epson or HP (PSION-Y)
TAB Switch to next diary.
Shift/TAB Switch to previous diary.
PSION-X Return to info screen.
Dual chart
This function allows to show two different diaries on one screen.
For only one diary you can show two different average days during different intervals.
The same functions as above except TAB are available.

Preferences
Specify the default diary.
The default diary is offered by the system during selections.
Optionally, you can set the timing constant for dual tone dialing. (see PSION User manual)
Printer setup
Select interface and communication parameters. (see PSION User manual).
For chart printing printer must be set to Epson or HP (see README.TXT).
You can print into a printfile, too. This file can even be on a remote computer (MCLINK needed) and can even be a printer port, e.g. REM::LPT1.
