The building of the cathedral near Deßk Square started in 1848 but it got its final form only in 1905. As there are three planning architects: J≤zsef Hild, Mikl≤s Ybl and J≤zsef Kauser, three different architectural styles can be distinguished accordingly: classicist, neo-renaissance, neo-baroque. It is the biggest cathedral in Budapest.
