The bridge was built between 1894-96 based on the plans of Jßnos Feketehßzy. After comletition it was inangurated by Joseph Franz Kaiser and was named ofter him for a long time. Similary to all the others bridges it was seriously damaged in World War II. It was the first bridge to be rebuilt in 1946 and renamed as Liberty Bridge.
