From 1844 till the World War II. it served as a public cemetery. Many famous personalities have been buried here in recent years. Among others the graves of Attila J≤zsef, Endre ady, Tivadar Kosztka Csontvßry, Gyula Kr·dy, Ferenc Erkel, Andor Gßbor, Mari Jßszai, M≤r J≤kai, Dezs⌡ Kosztolßnyi, Kßlmßn Mikszßth, Zsigmond M≤ricz, Mihßly Tßncsics, Mihßly V÷r÷smarty can also be visited here.
