The present bridge was erected whenever on the original pillars in 1961 - 64 in the place
during World War II. The designer Pßl Savoy built a bridge of new Style a so called cable bridge. The construction itself is a miracle of engineering as the Inner-City Church origially located at the foot of the bridge had to be removed in order to make enough space for the downward lanes of the road.
