  1. Jesus Walks on the Water
  2. The disciples of Jesus had been out to sea for some time
  3. now.  Earlier in the day Jesus had asked them to go before
  4. Him to the other side of the sea.  But now it was dark and a
  5. storm was blowing the waves higher and higher. The disciples
  6. wished that Jesus had come with them.  They became afraid as
  7. the lightning flashed around them.  Suddenly, one of them
  8. shouted, "Look! A ghost!"  With terrified faces they watched
  9. as the ghost walked toward them on the water!  But then the
  10. ghost spoke to them and said, "It is I.  Don't be afraid."
  11. Peter shouted, "It is Jesus!"  Peter called out to Jesus and
  12. asked, "Lord, can I come out to you on the water?"  "Come,"
  13. Jesus said.  Peter climbed into the stormy sea.  He began to
  14. walk on the water also!  But then he took his eyes off of
  15. Jesus and began to doubt. He began to sink!  He cried out to
  16. Jesus, "Lord, save me!" Jesus reached out and caught him. As
  17. they climbed into the boat Jesus asked, "why did you doubt?"
