  3. Dit zijn bestanden die met de software speler afgespeeld
  4. moeten worden zonder MPEG kaart.
  5. Om dit mogelijk te maken zijn de beelden kleiner en minder
  6. scherp dan de bestanden die voor o.a. de ReelMotion kaart
  7. bestemd zijn.
  8.  
  9. Zie deze video bestanden als een aanmoediging om een kaart te
  10. kopen, waarmee video echt full screen afgespeeld kan worden.
  11. Ze zijn niet representatief voor de kwaliteit van de bestanden
  12. bestemd voor deze manier van afspelen.

  15. DE SOFTWARE SPELERS.

  17. Introductie.

  20.   Deze directory bevat de bestanden die softwarematig
  21.   (dus zonder MPEG-kaart) Mpeg video zijn af te spelen.
  22.   De beeldgrootte is geheel afhankelijk van de processor.
  23.   Een SoundBlaster compatible geluidskaart is nodig om geluid
  24.   te horen.
  25.   De kwaliteit van het beeld is beter zonder geluid.
  26.   De CD-Rom met MPEG bevatten deze software matige afspeel-
  27.   mogelijkheid.
  28.   Met behulp van deze bestanden kan ieder beeld van een film
  29.   "gegrabd" (beetgepakt) en in een tekenpakket bewerkt worden.

  32. DOS softwarespeler

  35.         Deze heet MPEG.exe.
  36.         Tik in MPEG.exe en de parameters verschijnen vanzelf.

  38. Windows softwarespeler
  39. ----------------------
  40.         Deze heet dmfw.exe.
  41.         Er is geen aparte Windows installatie voorhanden.
  42.         Start via bestandsbeheer.

  44. Installatie

  46.         Kopieer deze hele directory naar een directory op de 
  47.         harde schijf. Raadpleeg de meegeleverde help bestanden.

  49. Versie
  50. -------
  51.         Deze versie is beter (een update) van oudere op sommige CD_ROMs
  52.         meegeleverde versies. De vroegere bestanden kunnen echter gewoon 
  53.         afgespeeld worden. De beeldkwaliteit zonder geluid is soms beter
  54.         dan met geluid. Een softwarespeler kan geen hardware kaart
  55.         vervangen wat kwaliteit aangaat.

  74. CHANGES IN XINGIT! VERSION 1.1D

  76. Xingit! version 1.1d features the following changes to version 1.1a:
  77. - the Xingit! program has been modified to work properly with
  78.   SoundBlaster16 audio cards (previous versions experienced intermittent
  79.   sound recording dropouts in the presence of SoundBlaster16 cards);
  80. - the Xingit! program has been modified to work properly in the presence
  81.   of Diamond Viper VLB video cards;
  82. - brightness and color saturation controls for video capture are now
  83.   available (an extra jumper must be placed on pins 1 and 2 of the
  84.   five-pin feature selector at the top of the Xingit! card for these
  85.   controls to work);
  86. - a new AVI driver featuring a DIB display mode and compatibility with
  87.   Video for Windows version 1.1;
  88. - a new MCI driver (6/19/94) (read MCIDOC.WRI in the Xingit! dir for details);
  89. - high-color direct drivers for the ET4000 chipset;
  90. - expanded feedback during the capture process;
  91. - the Video Editor now supports up to 20 source decks (set through the
  92.   Video Editor Preferences) and permits saving a new sequence as a sequence
  93.   of BMP files.

  96. INSTRUCTIONS FOR UPDATING YOUR XINGIT! SOFTWARE
  97.  
  98. The file XNGT11D.EXE is a self-extracting ZIP file (PKZIP 2.04g)
  99. that contains Xingit! version 1.1d. To update your software, complete
  100. the following steps:
  101. - Exit Windows;
  102. - At a DOS command line, make your current directory your
  103.   Xingit! directory (e.g., cd \xing\xingit);
  104. - Run the XNGT11d.EXE program. This program extracts new versions of
  105.   Xingit!'s files; Answer "YES" to the prompts that ask you to confirm
  106.   replacement of the original files.
  107. - If you are planning to use Xingit!'s MCI and AVI drivers and you have
  108.   older versions of these drivers installed, use Windows' DRIVERS control
  109.   panel applet to install the new drivers from the XINGIT directory. If
  110.   your PC does not have older versions of these drivers, run the
  111.   XMCIAVI.EXE program that resides in the XINGIT directory.

  117. REDISTRIBUTABLE MPEG PLAYERS
  118. Included in your Xingit! directory is a file called "MPEGVU.EXE". 
  119. This file is a self extracting archive that includes the Xingit! Runtime
  120. Video Player. To install the player, create a new directory on your hard
  121. drive and copy MPEGVU.EXE into it. Change to that directory and type
  122. MPEGVU to extract the player files. You are free to redistribute
  123. or publish the MPEGVU.EXE file according to the limitations described
  124. in the README.TXT file in the MPEGVU archive.
