  6. 1988 - TeleChess modem version v1.0 under DOS and CGA
  7. 1989 - TeleChess modem version v2.0 under DOS and Hercules
  8. 1995 - TeleChess TCP/IP version under Windows 3.x and Winsock 1.1

  11. WHAT IS TeleChess
  12. TeleChess is a Chinese Chess game, to be played by two people
  13. over a TCP/IP network, possibly the Internet, or any LAN capable
  14. of running TCP/IP.  TeleChess is NOT a chess game played by
  15. a computer.

  18. HOW TO PLAY A CHINESE GAME
  19. Excuse me for not be able to provide a set of rules for playing
  20. Chinese game.  If you would like to join us to enjoy the art of
  21. Chinese Chess, please look for a Chinese Chess set in any
  22. department store and usually instructions will be included.

  25. HOW TO SETUP TeleChess and START GAME
  26. 1. Setup Winsock 1.1 correctly.  I will leave all the setup
  27.    details of Winsock to individual implementations.
  28.  
  29. 2. Create a file name tchess.ini under Windows system directory
  30.    with the following section and attributes:
  31.  
  32.    [tchess]
  33.    myname=<your name> ; put your name within 10 characters
  34.    connect-to=<IP address of the opposite player>
  35.    ; this attribute is for game initiator only
  36.    port=<port number>
  37.    ; both player must agree on a port number, default is 8000
  38.  
  39. 3. The game initiator choose the Play->Initiate option, and
  40.    the opposite player choose the Play->Wait option.
  41.    Game then starts and you will see 'TeleChess with ...' at
  42.    the window title.

  44. 4.  Use Play->Reset to restart a game;
  45.     Use Play->Switch to give up your turn; and
  46.     Use Play->Quit to quit a game.
