  7. What is it?
  8. ===========
  9.    WinMac is a menu bar similar to Apple Macintosh, in both System 7.5 
  10.    style and Mac OS 8 (formerly known as Copland) style.

  13. System requirements
  14. ===================
  15.    WinMac requires Microsoft Windows 95 and a 486 or better CPU to run.
  16.    A high color or above display is also recommended.

  19. Installation
  20. ============
  21.    To install WinMac, unzip all of the files into an empty directory
  22.    and then run SETUP.EXE.
  23.  
  24.    IMPORTANT: If you have a previous version of WinMac you will need
  25.           to uninstall it first.

  28. Tips
  29. ====
  30.    ~ To change desktop icons, use 'Desktop Icons' in the WinMac Control Panel
  31.    ~ MacOS 8 Style is only available in thousands / millions of colors.
  32.    ~ To display the date, click the clock. To change back, click again or
  33.         wait three seconds.
  34.    ~ To change the time and date format, go to 'Regional Settings' in the
  35.         Control Panel, then modify the "Time style" for time format and 
  36.         "Short date style" for date format.
  37.    ~ To adjust master volume, left click the volume control icon. Double
  38.         click to adjust other volume.
  39.    ~ To customise 'Recent Applications' menu items, add shortcuts into
  40.         the 'Recent Applications' folder in your WinMac program directory.
  41.         ie. c:\Program Files\WinMac\Recent Applications\(your shortcuts)
  42.    ~ 'Recent Documents' can only hold up to 10 files in maximum, so
  43.         'clear menu' if necessary.
  44.    ~ 'Restart' & 'Shutdown' gives a quick but safe shutdown. Make sure you 
  45.         close all other programs though.
  46.    ~ If 'Always On Top' is selected, WinMac will always stay on top as 
  47.         the Windows Taskbar does.
  48.    ~ 'Eject Disk' ejects a CD-ROM when it contains a disk.
  49.    ~ To Exit WinMac, double right click the Apple at the top-left corner.

  54.    Also come with this program are a collection of cursors, wallpapers and 
  55.    the original Mac95Pack by The E which contains a very detailed instruction
  56.    on how to make your PC look like a Mac.

  58.    If you've done all the changes, and you want to completely hide 
  59.    the windows taskbar away, here are the final steps:
  60.  
  61.    1. Put a shortcut of WinMac in Startup.
  62.    2. Right click on the windows taskbar to display the taskbar properties.
  63.    3. Make sure Auto Hide is selected and Always on top is not selected.
  64.    4. Drag the taskbar to the upper edge of the screen.
  65.    5. Move the cursor to the bottom edge of the taskbar, then resize
  66.       and shrink the taskbar so that it becomes very thin.
  67.    6. Select Always on top in WinMac.
  68.    7. Done. You can still access the Windows Startmenu by placing your 
  69.       cursor at the top-left corner and then click the mouse.

  72. Uninstall WinMac
  73. ================
  74.    To uninstall, use 'Add/Remove Programs' in Control Panel.
  75.    (Make sure you change back to Windows default icons first.)
