Use these tip dialogs to find out more about RipBAR. We recommend keeping the "Tips" feature on for awhile so that you can uncover RipBAR's many secrets!
You can pop out any RipBAR group into a separate bar by holding down the CTRL key while clicking on a group tab.
You can set a particular group to always appear in a separate poput bar by specifying "Popout When Activated" in the preferences for the group tab.
You can customize the background display of the bar -- simply drag a bitmap file to the bar while holding down the CTRL key!
Popout group bars can be set to "List Mode" so that items show up in a list-- perfect for things like documents where titles are long!
To clear the background on the bar, bring up RipBAR's menu and select "Clear background".
You can customize hotkeys for any of the items on the bar. Typing that hotkey from anywhere in Windows, will launch the item.
Re-arranging group tabs on the bar is easy -- simply select "Groups..." from RipBAR's menu and use the UP-DOWN buttons to reorder the list.
Always forgetting something? Use RipBAR's Notes feature to keep track of things to do.
Use the "Tools" section of Preferences to add brand-new RipBAR tools like "My Computer" and "Network Neighborhood" to the bar.
The RipBAR Administrator (a separate tool that comes with RipBAR Pro) is handy for backing up and restoring your RipBAR settings. Did you know however, that you can also use it to keep common settings accross user acounts and operating systems?
You can use the RUN tool to launch documents as well as applications -- simply type the path and file name of the document and RipBAR will launch its application for you.
You can change the icons displayed for different items on the bar-- simply right-click on an item and select Properties. Then go to "Icons" and browse for your favorite image!
You can minimize the screen space that RipBAR uses by enabling the "Tuck-Away" feature. This way, RipBAR will quietly disappear when you don't need it and will reappear whenever you pass your mouse over the edge of the screen or you activate it from the task list.
You can instruct RipBAR to always return to the top group after launching an item -- simply enable the "Auto Return To Top" feature in Preferences.
You can select a hotkey to activate RipBAR -- this way, no matter how many windows you have open on the desktop, RipBAR is always close at hand!
In Windows 95, you can easily set up icons that will open an Explorer onto any drive of your choice-- create Disk Tool items for your drives in Preferences.
Re-arranging icons on the bar is easy. Simply click on drag an item to a new spot or group on the bar.
RipBAR displays applications that are already running on your system with an icon that has a "curled-up" corner.
If you have the icon browse dialog up for a RipBAR item, you can drag icon files to it from File Manager or Explorer instead of using the File Browse dialog.
For a quick overview of free space on your disks, bring up RipBAR's disk space tool with the "Disk Information" item on RipBAR's menu-- this is especially handy when you are getting ready to install a program!
If you have lots of groups on the bar, you can set hotkeys for the most frequently used ones -- simply right click on a group tab to bring up the Properties dialog for that group. From there, you can select your hotkey.
A handy way to open a document in File Manager or Explorer with the application of your choice, is to drag that document and drop it on top of an application on the bar.
If you want to be able to Exit or Log out of Windows in a snap, assign a hotkey to RipBAR's Exit tool -- this way, getting out of Windows in two key clicks away!
You can configure sounds for a number of events in RipBAR -- go to the Sounds tab in Preferences and choose your favorite clips!
