LOCK & KEY is a 32-bit shell for Pretty Good Privacy (PGP) under
Windows 95. LOCK & KEY integrates seamlessly with the Windows 95
Explorer. Just right-click on any file to encrypt it using PGP.
Double-click any encrypted file to view or save it. If QuickView
or QuickView Plus is present on your system, LOCK & KEY will use
QuickView/QuickView Plus viewers to view decrypted files. Supports
long file names!
To install, run INSTALL.EXE. You will be given the following choices:
1. Default install, which creates a right-click menu item for
encrypting files. Double-click to decrypt an encrypted file.
2. Alternate install, which places Lock & Key in the SendTo folder
for encrypting files. Double-click to decrypt an encrypted file.
BECAUSE OF COMPATIBILITY ISSUES WITH THE MS OFFICE MANAGER
TOOLBAR, THIS OPTION IS RECOMMENDED FOR MS OFFICE USERS.
3. Uninstall Lock & Key.
Note: If you choose the default install, and later encounter
compatibility issues with other programs such as MS Office, you can
run Install again.
You must have PGP present and properly installed on your system.
LOCK & KEY is written in Microsoft Visual Basic 4.0 and requires
VB40032.DLL to be present in your \Windows\System directory.
LOCK & KEY is shareware. For information on registering LOCK & KEY,
see the documentation.
More information on installing and using LOCK & KEY, and instructions
for uninstalling, can be found in the enclosed file LOCK&KEY.DOC.
