--------- -----------

*.BUM Temporary files which may be deleted
*.BUP Procedure files
*.HLP Help files
*.LGF Language files
*.LOG Log files
* NOTE ABOUT INI FILES *
NovaBack uses INI files to save program configuration in between
sessions. You should never have to use (manually edit/change)
these files except in the following cases:
NovaBoot and Multiple OS Partition Warning
------------------------------------------
The NovaBoot Utility provides for disaster recovery for the active
operating system at the time of backup. It is used to recover
files that are "visible" at the time of backup. Though this may
seem obvious, it is important to know that if you have your
hard disk(s) partitioned to include other operating systems and
files that are not accessible for backup, then these also cannot
be recovered with the use of NovaBoot. In short, NovaBoot does NOT
provide strict image recovery (sector by sector data restoration).
CD-ROM DRIVES and REMOVABLE MEDIA
By default, NovaBack does not recognize the presence
of removable media devices (it will never recognize the
presence of the floppy drives A: or B:). If you want
NovaBack to recognize the presence of CD-ROM drives and
other media that the program detects as removable,
make the following change in NOVABACK.INI file.
The NOVABACK.INI file may be found in the same
subdirectory that the NovaBack program was installed
to. If you do not find a NOVABACK.INI file, simply
run the application, from the main menu of NovaBack,
select "Options" then select "Save Options". This
simple process will save your session settings into
the NOVABACK.INI file.
Now, edit the NOVABACK.INI file and toward the bottom
you will see the following section:
[Misc. Options]
save temporary files = OFF
ignore removable media=ON
run atuo test = OFF
To allow NovaBack to report removable media, change the
second line. After making the change, this is what the
new NOVABACK.INI file should look like:
[Misc. Options]
save temporary files = OFF
ignore removable media=OFF
run atuo test = OFF
Special Notes
