  3. Thank you for trying Pilot's Personal Flight Log.  This Program was written by
  4. Greg Kelley, a Commercial Pilot/CFII and Computer Specialist with the
  5. University System of New Hampshire. PPFL was written using Microsoft Access
  6. v7.0 for Win95 and will run under Win95/NT only.  If you have any questions,

  11. INSTALLATION
  12.  
  13. There are two Installation Versions: Full and Compact.  The Full version is
  14. distributed on 5 Disks and includes MS-Access v7.0 Run-Time.  If downloaded
  15. from the internet, be sure to set the Label of each installation disk
  16. (DISK1, DISK2, etc.).  The Compact version is for those who already have 
  17. MS-Access v7.0 Installed and includes only the .mdb files.  It is 
  18. distributed on 1 Disk and will install the Win95 or NT (v4.x) Shortcuts 
  19. or NT (v3.xx) Group Icons.

  22. Installation is the standard Windows format: Disk 1 in Drive A: and
  23. Run A:Setup.  If you do not have MS-Access v7.0 installed, select the
  24. Typical Installation Option.  If you already have MS-Access v7.0 installed,
  25. select the Compact Installation Option.  This will install only the .mdb
  26. files and Shortcuts (Win95) or Group (NT 3.5).  The default location is
  27. C:\Program Files\Flight Log.

  52. OVERVIEW

  55. PPFL was designed with simplicity of use as the main feature.  When you start
  56. PPFL, you are placed in the Log Form.  There is a 'seed' record in the
  57. Aircraft Data and also in the Log Data.  Your first step is to click on
  58. Aircraft and modify the first record.  Next, you can add more Aircraft to
  59. match those you fly.  You are now ready to make Log entries.  Modify the
  60. first Log Record to match the first entry in your Log Book.  You can then
  61. add as many log entries as you wish.

  118. * This is the Main Application Window for PPFL.  Command Buttons are
  119.   described above.  You must select an Aircraft from the list.  You
  120.   may manually type in an Aircraft to select from the list in an existing
  121.   Log record.  You may enter a new Aircraft manually in the list only when
  122.   entering a new Log Record; this brings up the Aircraft Form.  You may not
  123.   add a new aircraft in an existing Log Record.
  124. * The Aircraft List is updated any time you add or delete an aircraft.
  125. * When you add or modify a log entry, the Flight Time (Duration) is added
  126.   or changed in the Total Time of the Aircraft assigned to the Log Record.
  127. * If you change Aircraft using the list, the Flight Time is deducted from
  128.   the old Aircraft and added to the new Aircraft.

  150. * This is the Pilot Information/Currency Data Entry Form.  Data fields are 
  151.   self-explanatory.  The Medical Due field is calculated using your Medical
  152.   Type and Medical Date.  If you are beyond the Due Date the field turns red.
  153. * The IFR Currency Due field is currently calculated 6 months after your
  154.   IFR Check Date.  This currency calculation will change soon and an update
  155.   will follow.
  156. * The BFR Due field is calculated 2 years after your BFR Date.
