  2. MR.MATT - README.1ST

  5. This is Mr.Matt, a strategy game for the age bracket ranging from
  6. teenage to adult. The game exists in both 16- and 32-bit versions;
  7. depending on the archive file you unpacked it from:
  8.  
  9. MRMATT16.ZIP - a 16-bit version for Windows 3.1 (runs also under
  10.                Windows 95 and NT)
  11.  
  12. MRMATT32.ZIP - a 32-bit version, optimized for Windows 95.
  13.  
  14. Mr.Matt is copyright ⌐ 1996 by J. Andrzej Wrotniak. The current
  15. version is distributed as freeware: you are granted a license
  16. to use it for your personal enjoyment and to give away copies to
  17. friends as long as all files listed in the PACKING LIST section
  18. below are included.

  20. Shareware and freeware vendors: please refer to the VENDINFO.DIZ
  21. file for the distribution conditions.

  24. HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS
  25.  
  26. Any computer capable of running Windows 3.1 or Windows 95 will
  27. do. A color VGA or SVGA monitor is required. A sound board (or
  28. at least the SPEAKER.DRV driver) is required for the sound, but
  29. the game will also work fine without it. The mouse is supported
  30. but not necessary.

  32. The program files need less than 1 megabyte of disk space.

  35. INSTALLATION
  36.  
  37. Create a new directory (any name, anywhere), copy all Mr.Matt
  38. files to it. Done.
  39.  
  40. The program does not require any files not supplied in the
  41. distribution archive (except, of course, the standard parts of
  42. the Windows system). It does not create or modify any files
  43. outside of its own directory.

  46. DEINSTALLATION

  48. Delete the Mr.Matt directory with all the files inside it.

  53. The distribution archive contains sixteen files:

  55. MRMATT.EXE   - the program file
  56. MRMATT.HLP   - the help file

  58. MM_ALL.WAV
  59. MM_ERROR.WAV
  60. MM_KILL.WAV
  61. MM_PICK.WAV
  62. MM_STON.WAV
  63. MM_STUP.WAV
  64. MM_WIN.WAV   - seven sound files
  65.  
  66. EASY_ONE.MAT
  67. DJAMDJAK.MAT
  68. TRY_THIS.MAT - three game files
  69.  
  70. README.1ST   - the file you are reading now
  71. WHATSNEW.TXT - the update history with the list of new features
  72. FILE_ID.DIZ  - a brief program description in a standard format
  73. VENDINFO.DIZ - info for shareware vendors and BBS operators
  74.  
  75. The last four files are not necessary for the program operation
  76. and can be safely deleted after reading. The sound  files also
  77. can be deleted if you do not care for sound effects in the
  78. program.
