  8. Version 1.30 is a minor release.  As such, it fixes bugs and adds
  9. new features without major changes to the existing interface.  A
  10. detailed list of the bug fixes, enhancements, and new features
  11. follows.

  15. . If an external wadfile is used for additional images, it will now
  16.   be included when running the map.
  17. . Fixed a focus problem with the image browser dialog incremental
  18.   searching.

  20. Improved Features
  21. -----------------
  22. . Improved zoom under WindowsNT to a maximum of 400%.
  23. . Improved zoom under Windows95 to a maximum of 250% by limiting map
  24.   size to 16000 units square.
  25. . Changed the tag dialog to center the map editing view on the selected
  26.   object.
  27. . Added the make column option to the new rectangular sector dialog and
  28.   the new polygonal sector dialog.
  29. . Added the current zoom setting to the status bar.
  30. . The image browser dialog now appends an asterisk to the name of an image
  31.   if it is not supplied by the main wadfile.
  32. . When running a map, WadAuthor will now create a response file for
  33.   passing arguments if the command line length is greater than the
  34.   operating system allows.

  38. . Added panning on Ctrl+Shift primary click.  This feature allows the user
  39.   to scroll the map view by grabbing a location and dragging rather than by
  40.   using the scroll bars.
  41. . Added the run map dialog  for customizing options immediately prior to
  42.   launching the game.
  43. . Added the tip of the day dialog to provide on-going help and amusement.
  44. . A special version of the WTF Productions DOOM and DOOM ][ Editing Guide

  76. If any of the files are missing, you did not get the real thing.
  77. To get started, simply unzip the files and run WAUTHOR.EXE.
  78. WadAuthor will ask you for any configuration data it needs.

  80. If you are a newcomer to wadfile editing, I strongly suggest
  81. taking a look at the helpfile "Getting Started" and "Tutorial"
  82. topics before diving in.  WadAuthor is simple to use, but it
  83. does require some knowledge of wadfile concepts.

  85. Installing WadAuthor
  86. --------------------
  87. If you are installing WadAuthor for the first time, simply unzip
  88. the archive into the desired directory -- that's all there is to
  89. it.  If you are updating a pre-existing WadAuthor installation
  90. with a new version, you need to copy all files except WAUTHOR.WCL.
  91. Copying the license file will lose your registration information.
  92.  
  93. WadAuthor is shareware
  94. ----------------------
  95. WadAuthor is *not* free.  You may use it free of charge for a
  96. period of fifteen days.  After this period of time I expect you
  97. to register the product or remove it from your system.  Consult
  98. the helpfile "Registration" topic for further information.
  99.  
  100. I encourage you to distribute the original WadAuthor archive
  101. freely as long as the following conditions are met:
  102.  
  103.     1) You distribute the original un-modified archive.
  104.     2) You charge nothing.
  105.

  114. I would like to dedicate WadAuthor to the memory of my father, 
  115. John A. Williston, who for some reason decided to end his life over 
  116. the weekend of March 16-17, 1996.  He helped me to build my first 
  117. computer as a twelve year old boy, and I am well within the mark 
  118. when I say that I would never have become the man I am today 
  119. without him.
