WebXpress version 1.5
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
WebXpress is a Win95 application. It is an add-on for Netscape's Navigator
WWW (World Wide Web) browsing application. It provides a quick and easy way
to access your E-mail, News and favourite Web sites. This version also
includes an E-mail notification function.
1. HISTORY
Version 1.0 (8 Mar 96) - First release.
Version 1.5 (20 Mar 96) - 2 new functions added.
a. The menu is now limited to display at most 20 bookmarks. Addition
bookmarks will be made available to users in the More Bookmarks dialog
box.
b. E-mail notification. Users will be notified if there are incoming
mails in their mail box by the Envelope icon in tray. The envelope
icon has 4 states of notification and they are:
i. Envelope - No mail in mail box
ii. Envelope with ! mark - There are mail in mail box
iii. Envelope with ? mark - Looking for mail box
iv. Envelope with X mark - Unable to logon to mail box
Clicking on the Envelope icon will also allow u to read and send your
mail.
2. FILES
You should have the following files after you have unzipped the WebX15.Zip
file:
WEBXPRSS.EXE - The WebXpress application
REGISTER.TXT - The Registration Form
README.TXT - The file that you are reading now
3. UNREGISTERED COPY RESTRICTIONS
Users are allowed to evaluate this unregistered copy of WebXpress for free
for a period of 10 days. It will automatically fail to function after the
evaluation period is over. Users who are interested in registering WebXpress
with the author, should fill up the registration form (Register.Txt) and mail
it back to the author with the registration fee included. Upon registration,
users will receive the registered copy of WebXpress (minus all those
irritating message boxes). Registered users will also get future upgrades of
WebXpress for free.
4. FUTURE PLANS
a. The next version of WebXpress will also function with Microsoft's Internet
Explorer and Exchange. It will also allow users to access a Web site with
Navigator using Internet Explorer's bookmarks and vice versa.
b. Organise bookmarks into folders.
