  1. Windows96 Backdrop

  4. Put Win96.bmp into your Windows directory & use as a screen backdrop. Users of 1024x768 screen
  5. mode will probably want to resize it. The best was is to use Paint Shop Pro 3.12. Convert it 
  6. to 16million colours & then RESAMPLE it to 1024x768 & save. You'll want to reduce the number of
  7. colours to 256 but Paint Shop Pro is very bad at doing this. Use almost any other program to 
  8. reduce the number of colours. I use LView Pro or SEA (http://toad.stack.urc.tue.nl/~ralphg/). 
  9. LView Pro automatically saves bmps in 256 colours with no loss of quality.

  11. This wallpaper was made to accompany my Windows96 start & shutdown screens. I was inspired by 
  12. to make it by Matthew's (http://www.hiltonhead9.com/flash) attempt at a Windows96 wallpaper, 
  13. because his is not very convincing. Feel free to distribute.
