README FILE for Panthers Win95 Theme Version 1.5...........
NOTICE: This theme is designed for Windows95 and using the Plus! for Win95.
This theme was created as a tribute to the Florida Panthers for 1995-1996.
It is complete with sounds, a choice of three wallpapers, animated cursors
and several extra icons that you can choose from in addition to the default
ones provided. All the pieces of this theme were obtained from various sources
on the Internet and are available for free.I just had a good time putting it
all together and hope you enjoy it.
I wish to thank Jesus Sanchez from the Unofficial Florida Panthers Page
at http://www.elink.net/jrs/panthers for his very welcome additions of the
"Hey!!","Rats at the Ready"and Start and Exit Windows wavs and the
Wallpaper #2 of Beezer.
Note: These wallpapers are 16 bit color and designed to be used at 640x480
resolution. Be sure to have your resolution and colors set to these. If you
are not sure if that is what you are using...do this before you install the
theme for best results using the theme....
Go to the open desktop and right click on it. The popup menu will ap-
pear. Click on "Properties".Go to "Settings". Set the appropriate boxes. Re-
boot the machine if required per the message if you get one. These are the
normal settings for viewing with your computer, especially anything on the
Internet. Now go to the install process...
To Install:
1) Open Archive using Winzip for Windows95. Extract to a temporary directory.
If you don't have a temporary directory you normally use, Create it! I
always use the name "JUNK" for my temp directory.Anything I download off
the Internet gets downloaded here and then installed.Just right-click
on the open desktop...go to "New"..go to "Folder"...then rename the new
folder "Junk" or anything you want. Then open up Explorer in a minimized
window and drag this folder to your "C:"drive or whichever drive you are
using and drop it there.Delete the folder still left on your desktop and
you now have created a folder to which you can download to that is always
free and easy to find. And if you use an anti-virus program..you should
always run it while the new files are still in this directory and un-
launched or uninstalled.Don't worry...I have checked these files for
any unwanted guests...I know this primer in downloading maybe old news
to many of you..but many don't know these little tricks.OK?
2) Copy the files Panthers Wallpaper1.BMP, Wallpaper2.BMP, Wallpaper3.BMP
to your C:\Windows root directory.I couldn't decide
which I liked better.You choose.Delete what doesn't appeal.
3) Copy the rest of the files to your C:\Program Files\Plus!\Themes files
4) Click on Control Panel..click on Desktop Themes.
5) Click on the drop down dialog box and find Panthers Theme.
6) Click once to select the Panthers Theme and click apply, then OK.
That should install your new Panthers Theme. If you want to change your
wallpaper...see steps 7-9 below.
If for some reason you don't see a wallpaper in your themes window,
go to steps 7-9 below.
7) Next...right click on your open desktop.
And then click on "Properties". Under Backgrounds, scroll down the list
for your four Panthers wallpapers and highlight the one you want.Be sure
to select "center" in the appropriate box. Click OK.That image becomes
your wallpaper. You can use this proceedure to change your background at
any time in the future.
8) lastly..go back once more to Desktop Themes and click "Save As" and the
dialog box will ask you to save this theme...hilite "Panthers Theme" once
more. Windows will ask you if you want to replace the "Panthers theme"
with it's own name"Panthers Theme"? Click yes to save the entire scheme
with your selected background as your complete Panthers Theme.
9) Click on OK. Your theme is installed.
As usual..I can't accept any responsibility for any problems you may encounter
while using this theme..but if you follow the simple instructions, it's cool;-)
If you have any questions..you can contact me at :

Didn't have a screensaver prepared as of now...but if you have some .jpg
pics of the Panthers hanging around on your harddrive..I'd suggest the
The Amazing JPEG Screen Saver
http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/esmsoftware
for an inexpensive but full featured program that will let you select a file
with your pictures and it will work as a screen saver/slideshow if you want.
Or if you are into video clips, you might try:
Net Toob Multimedia Viewer
http://www.duplexx.com
This is a great little viewer that views .mpg, .avi, and .mov files
and can be setup as your default online browser and also makes a GREAT
screen saver using your favorite video files.
Both of these are shareware..but inexpensive and worth the dinero.
If you get a chance...stop by my website at:
