  3. This is the README.TXT file for Microangelo, a product
  4. designed specifically for working with miniature graphics
  5. under Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0.
  6.  
  7. INSTALLING MICROANGELO
  8. -----------------------
  9. The Microangelo package includes a graphical Windows
  10. installation program.  Copy or unzip the set of files
  11. that accompany this README.TXT file to a floppy diskette
  12. or into a temporary folder.  Then run the SETUP program
  13. from the diskette or temporary folder.
  14.  
  15. UNINSTALLING MICROANGELO
  16. ------------------------
  17. Microangelo Setup also installs an "uninstall" utility
  18. to allow easy removal of Microangelo from your system.
  19. Select "Add/Remove Programs" from your Settings (Control
  20. Panel) folder and select "Microangelo 2.1" to uninstall
  21. the software.

  23. DISPLAYING HIGH-COLOR ICONS
  24. ---------------------------
  25. The Microangelo Engineer component contains an option on
  26. the System tab that is used to configure Windows 95 and NT 
  27. 4.0 to display icons using all possible colors.  Displaying 
  28. icons in more than 16 colors requires the system's video 
  29. mode tobe set to GREATER than 256 colors.  Appropriate modes 
  30. are commonly referred to as High-Color (16 bit) or True Color
  31. (24 bit).  Your system's video mode can be accessed from
  32. the Settings tab of your Display's Property sheet.  Right
  33. click anywhere on the desktop background and select
  34. Properties.

  36. DOCUMENTATION
  37. -------------
  38. Setup installs a Quickstart User Manual and displays this
  39. manual at the conclusion of Setup.  The Quickstart guide
  40. contains important information and tips to help get the
  41. most out of Microangelo.
  42.  
  43. We recommend printing out the Quickstart guide and reviewing
  44. before you use Microangelo or very soon.  It really does
  45. contain some useful information that might be otherwise
  46. overlooked.
  47.  
  48. Also, a thorough and concise set of online Help files
  49. provide excellent information on program specifics and step-
  50. by-step instructions to help you when you need it most -
  51. while you work.  You can access online help through the
  52. Contents window where the information is organized into
  53. books and chapters, or go directly to the Index window to
  54. look for specific references and keywords to help you locate
  55. the information that you are looking for.

  57. REGISTRATION
  58. ------------
  59. Microangelo is not free software.  It is released as
  60. shareware, which provides the opportunity for the program
  61. to be evaluated before it is purchased.
  62.  
  63. We hope that when you try Microangelo you will like it so
  64. much that you will want to register.  By doing so you are
  65. voting with your pocketbook for us to continue developing
  66. high-quality, Windows shareware.
  67.  
  68. Complete information on how to register Microangelo is
  69. included in the REGISTER.RTF file.  You can view and print
  70. the file from any text editor that understands Rich Text
  71. Format such as Windows Wordpad or MS Word.  Microangelo
  72. Setup installs a start menu entry titled Microangelo
  73. Registration Form that allows you to access the form from
  74. your Start menu.

  114.  SOFTWARE LICENSE
  115.  
  116.  Non-licensed users are granted a limited license to use
  117.  Microangelo on a 30-day trial basis for the purpose of
  118.  determining whether Microangelo is suitable for their
  119.  needs.  The use of Microangelo, except for the initial
  120.  30-day trial, requires registration.  The use of
  121.  unlicensed copies of Microangelo, outside of the initial
  122.  30-day trial, by any person, business, corporation,
  123.  government agency or any other entity is strictly
  124.  prohibited.
  125.  
  126.  A license for personal use may be purchased that grants
  127.  thea user the right to use Microangelo on one or more
  128.  computers.  A commercial license requires sufficient
  129.  licensing equal to the number of users, or the quantity
  130.  of workstations that access the software, whichever is
  131.  smaller.
  132.  
  133.  No one may modify or patch the Microangelo executable files
  134.  in any way, including but not limited to decompiling,
  135.  disassembling, or otherwise reverse engineering the
  136.  programs.
  137.  
  138.  A limited license is granted to copy and distribute
  139.  Microangelo only for the trial use of others, subject
  140.  to the above limitations, and also the following:
  141.  
  142.   1)    Microangelo and all of its release files must be
  143.         copied in unmodified form, complete with the file
  144.         containing this license information.
  145.  
  146.   2)    No fee, charge, or other compensation may be requested
  147.         or accepted, except as authorized below:
  148.  
  149.         A) Operators of electronic bulletin board systems
  150.            (sysops) may make Microangelo available for down-
  151.            loading only as long as the above conditions are
  152.            met.  An overall or time-dependent charge for the
  153.            use of the bulletin board system is permitted as
  154.            long as there is not a specific charge for the
  155.            download of Microangelo.

  157.         B) Vendors of user-supported or shareware software
  158.            approved by the ASP may distribute Microangelo,
  159.            subject to the above conditions, without specific
  160.            permission.  Non-approved vendors may distribute
  161.            Microangelo only after obtaining written
  162.            permission from Impact Software.  Such permission
  163.            is usually granted.  Please write for details
  164.            (enclose your catalog).

  166.         C) Non-profit user groups may distribute copies of
  167.            the Microangelo diskette to their members,
  168.            subject to the above conditions, without specific
  169.            permission.  Non-profit groups may collect a disk
  170.            duplication fee not to exceed five dollars.

  172.   LIMITED WARRANTY
  173.  
  174.   Impact Software warrants that all disks provided are
  175.   free from defects in material and workmanship, assuming
  176.   normal use, for a period of 90 days from the date of
  177.   purchase.

  179.   Impact Software warrants that the program will perform
  180.   in substantial compliance with the documentation supplied
  181.   with the software product.  If a significant defect in
  182.   the product is found, the Purchaser may return the
  183.   product for a refund.  In no event will such a refund
  184.   exceed the purchase price of the product.

  186.   EXCEPT AS PROVIDED ABOVE, IMPACT SOFTWARE DISCLAIMS ALL
  187.   WARRANTIES, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT
  188.   LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND
  189.   FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, WITH RESPECT TO THE
  190.   PRODUCT.  SHOULD THE PROGRAM PROVE DEFECTIVE, THE
  191.   PURCHASER ASSUMES THE RISK OF PAYING THE ENTIRE COST OF
  192.   ALL NECESSARY SERVICING, REPAIR, OR CORRECTION AND ANY
  193.   INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.  IN NO EVENT WILL
  194.   IMPACT SOFTWARE BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES WHATSOEVER
  195.   (INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF
  196.   BUSINESS PROFITS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, LOSS OF BUSINESS
  197.   INFORMATION AND THE LIKE) ARISING OUT OF THE USE OR THE
  198.   INABILITY TO USE THIS PRODUCT EVEN IF IMPACT SOFTWARE
  199.   HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

  201.   Use of this product for any period of time constitutes
  202.   your acceptance of this agreement and subjects you to its
  203.   contents.

  205.   U.S. GOVERNMENT RESTRICTED RIGHTS

  207.   Use, duplication, or disclosure by the Government is subject
  208.   to restrictions as set forth in subdivision (b)(3)(ii) of
  209.   the Rights in Technical Data and Computer Software clause at
